Ruby Johnston is an interdisciplinary practitioner, working across art, scent and the written word. They grew up in the North East of England, and currently live in Edinburgh since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art. Grounded in an appreciation for alternative forms of knowledge, their interests reside primarily in worldmaking and the occult, drawing on the latter to inform the former. Their fragrance practice reflects these interests, art and perfume feeding and bleeding into each other: using scent to immerse an audience in fantastical worlds, and using stories to enrich a perfume’s impression.
